Mobeen Syed is a physician. He graduated from King Edward Medical University in 1994. After practicing clinical medicine for a few years, he continued his studies in Computer Science with the goal of merging innovative technologies and healthcare. Dr. Mobeen’s dedication for teaching began at Horizon Medical Institute.

Dr. Mobeen’s unique skillset as a physician and software engineer enabled him to innovate several products, including a portable 3D ultrasound system designed by MediTeQ RI. His experience as a high tech executive includes time at Staples, Kohl’s, Rue Lala, Gemvara, TJX, and most recently e-commerce giant, PayPal.

Dr. Mobeen’s dedication to innovative and pioneering medical education has been a mainstay in his life. At DrBeen Corp, he strives to create a managed marketplace for medical providers that enables them to learn medicine in conjunction with new technologies.

Dr. Mobeen loves painting, music, medical illustrations, teaching, reading, and playing ping-pong. Dr. Mobeen, his wife Hina, and his two sons, currently live in the heart of Silicon Valley, Cupertino, California.

Faraaz Bhatti, MD FRCEM LLM MBA

Faraaz Bhatti MD completed his training in the United Kingdom and holds a Fellowship from the Royal College of Emergency Medicine. Over the years he has developed several interests including in medical education. He has been fortunate to have taught for a leading medical school, as their senior clinical lecturer. In 2019 he led an Emergency Department, ambulance and air ambulance service as Medical Director, subsequently moving to the United States. Dr. Bhatti continues to enjoy imparting his knowledge in creative ways to medical students, doctors and other healthcare professionals!

He moved to the UK after graduating from Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose, California and received his medical degree from King’s College London School of Medicine. During his Core Surgical Training, he also gained a master’s degree in Surgical Technology from Imperial College London, was inducted as a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, and published a medical education textbook. Ahmad Sheikh, M.D., FACS is a practicing Cardiothoracic Surgeon. He also maintains his board certification in General Surgery. Dr. Sheikh earned his medical degree at University of California San Francisco. She is currently conducting research on The Effects of Decrease in Readmission and Mortality for Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in an Outpatient Model of Transitional Care. Micah is an empathic marriage family therapist intern with a humanistic-existential approach, offering over 7 years experience with both group facilitation, couples work, and one-on-ones. His strengths include mindfulness-based interventions, trauma and crisis, at-risk and incarcerated youth, and Muslim outreach. Born in Connecticut, Micah Anderson spent several of his teen years in and out of placements. After years involved in 12-step fellowship, followed by extensive travel overseas searching for a spiritual path, he began a personal meditation practice in the early 1990s. Since then, he taught retreats and led trainings on mindfulness and emotional literacy in five countries, and leads a weekly meditation group in the Bay Area. Micah is the Director of Wellness at Ta’leef Collective, a semi-sacred space and community center for Muslims with campuses in both the Bay Area and Chicago. He is also a Program Director for the Mind Body Awareness Project, an Oakland, CA.-based non-profit that provides mindfulness and emotional literacy groups to incarcerated youth. He is currently collecting BBS hours under both sites, running groups as well as providing psychotherapy for both individuals, families, and couples. Micah lives in Oakland, CA. with his wife and two children, and has an M.A. in Psychology/Counseling from Sofia University (formerly the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology).

Dr. Anam Tariq, DO, MHS

Dr. Anam Tariq is a board-certified Internist, completing her Nephrology fellowship this year at the Johns Hopkins and is concurrently completing a Masters in Epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, in Baltimore, Maryland. She has been awarded a grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for research on nutrition/metabolomics and cardiovascular disease in the kidney-disease populations. She is currently a clinical-researcher and educator. She wants to pursue an academic career and continue teaching. Dr. Tariq has always had a passion for service; in her teenage years she worked for the World Health Organization in refugee camps and clinics in Pakistan, focusing on primary care, vaccinations, nutrition and preventive medicine. She has also traveled to Honduras and Dominican Republic on medical relief trips, delivering medications to free health clinics, performing first aid, serving as first responder and teaching hygiene practices. Donna prefers to practice in rural areas because they remind her of the area of Appalachia she grew up in as a child. Donna graduated nursing school as an associate degree nurse in 1998 from Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Donna went on to obtain her second nursing degree a Bachelor’s in Nursing in 2013 with Cum Laude Honors from Ohio University while working full time as a registered nurse. Donna obtained her Master’s in Nursing with international Honours from the Golden Key Honour Society as a Nurse Practitioner focus in November 2016.
